Sharing our journey
Salem Lake
in
Winter
~~~
This waterfall is said to be named after
Chief Shunkawauken.
It falls 150 feet down White Oak Mountain.
The road to the falls is full
of hairpin turns
and there is not really a
safe place to park, so be careful
if you visit.
Thought about this photo last night,
so I’m re-posting from 2009
Our Beautiful Salem Lake
Out in the middle of nowhere
live the eagles,
and ospreys,
and kingfishers,
and herons,
and me!
Every Easter, we go on a nature walk.
This year we spotted a few new
Large Flowered Trilliums
while walking the paths
around Reynolda.
Everything is blooming
at once in
our neighborhood,
but
my favorite
Spring bloom is
Wisteria!!
