It was difficult to capture the multiple layers of

Silver Run Falls in Cashiers, NC

This is a wonderful place to get in the ice cold water and play.  The “sand” along the bottom of the falls and creek is an unusual platinum or silver color.

Summer day on Whisper Lake in Sapphire Valley, NC

We spent a week’s vacation in a beautiful log cabin on this private lake in 2008.  My husband’s brother and sister came and brought their families.  We had a great reunion in this small mountain community.  This is where I fell in love with kayaking.

Sapphire Valley is between Cahsiers and Brevard in North Carolina.   It is surrounded by small lakes and waterfalls.
